SniperJohn A very good looking gun and good photos. I am guessing based on the picture that yours has 28 inch barrels. I have 28 inch barrels on most of
my guns and I like them. The BSA I bought for my daughter has 26 inch barrels, which I thought would be better for her. Although she is an adult and plenty
athletic, she some times comments that other guns she has shot seem too heavy. Her BSA is not light, it is 7 pounds, but I thought with the shorter barrels
the balance point would...

attention to choke anyway. Regardless of whether the bird is an overhead or crosser coming toward me or a flushing bird going away I shoot the open choked

the new shotgun on a walk. The gun had only been test fired and the guy even gave me the rest of the only box of shells he had bought for it. Feels good,
balanced. Informal pattern testing into a mud bank, shot to point of aim with both barrels. Chokes that are in it need to be swapped. It was shooting the

Looks like I just bought a BSA 20 GA classic myself. Impulse buy due to price. $375. Only knew what it was because of your great pictures. The seller only knew
it was a BSA, but did not know the model name. The one I am picking up was a safe queen, but I can fix that.

Eliot, to keep things interesting they decided the .410 should use a caliber designation like metallic cartridges have. If you were to call it by it's
gauge it would be a 67.57 gauge. Some .410 shells have always been labeled as 36 gauge (including some current manufacture Rios I have) but obviously that
isn't correct. A 32 gauge has a nominal bore diameter of .526", much closer to a 28 gauge than a .410. However, the standard 2 1/2" 32 gauge

Eliot, the 24 is another of the oddballs like the 32 that never was popular in the U.S. Nominal bore diameter is .579" compared to .550" for the 28
and .615" for the 20. In theory it could pattern slightly better than a 28 for a given shot weight although I doubt if the difference is real. Chambers
for the 24 gauge are 2 1/2" so standard loads and reloading data are going to be 5/8 or 3/4 ounce. Most of the 24 gauge guns I have seen are from European
