It seems like I have been pretty much just working and not much else. I am not complaining too loudly because business has been pretty good. I hope to go shoot
sporting clays this Saturday with some friends and am looking forward to that. It is past time to burn up some of this ammo I have loaded and hopefully the
summer schedule will allow that.
What is everyone else up to? Scott Is it snipe season yet?!? |

I'm not.
Tomorrow I will be headed back to Florida so that means rest and a comfortable bed. Today was supposed to be a day of rest but my wife dragged me back out on the lake for ten hours. Now that I have a new trap and a couple of boxes of clays I'd reeeeeeeally like to shoot my new gun when I get home. I wonder what the odds are that the parts for my press are ready to be picked up. |

I am travelling weekly between Naples and Jacksonville. My good friend Mike S. had to venture to Kentucky to take care of family issues and the farm so I was
mowing lawns this week for him. I will run his Monday route and he should return late Monday the 18th. I will try to return to Jacksonville Tuesday. Deb and I
still haven't found an appropriate home there and are very grateful to my brother and his family for letting us stay in their home this long.
My Dad called last week and the beef he fed out is ready. The locker was given instruction for cutting/packaging and brother Doug will make a trip north to retrieve it in the coming weeks. I will need to take my freezer this trip back to JAX. And did you can catch my post about my new/old Parker. That's a new story that I will have to tell Deb about. Maybe in November she will notice it and I can tell her she bought it for me on my birthday? Other than this I am just busy trying to find full time employment. Then I plan to scout some prime marsh areas around Jacksonville.

I am packing up the hounds and getting ready to head back to Utah, the turkey hunting has been mediocre at best, and the only good shot I had with my 62 cal
smoothbore flinter to date was on a big ol Tom with no beard!
gotta have abeard to be legal...so I sit and call and have 5 tags left to fill this month, then it's back to the red rocks for me. |

Im like everyone else and have been busy working these last few weeks. Of course the turkey project is still ongoing and I have half finished the rearing shed
for them. If the it would stop raining here for even half a day I might even get it finished!
I am looking forward to next weekend however, with the first of the summer game fairs. http://www.gamefairireland.com/index.htm Irish Snipe. P.S That's great news Dick! |

I was out camping with my dogs in the mountains. We had a couple days good weather and I made use of it, but like Keith says its rainy constantly. I am mostly
enjoying the company of my dogs and family. Every good day we have I am out doing some exploring and hiking. No hunting. Things arent right for that yet.

I am planning on taking a shotgun and passing some time at a few gun clubs while she does what she has to. After that we are headed toward Yellowstone. Is it snipe season yet?!? |

Been hunting in Texas still. Been a good week. One Gobbler and 5 hogs. One of the days was just the dog and I. She gets full credit for one of the Hogs,
stalking to it in thick brush with me following for a 10 yard shot. The other hogs were running or long range shots, but with the dog at my side on 3 of those.
Helped a friend take his first every "Spring" Turkey.
Before that, some fishing and sporting clays. So I have been staying busy and playing hard. |

It's been all work and no play at all, for the past couple of months. Lot's of travel so far this year, but that will probably slow down quickly.
Besides Orlando, Dayton OH, Baltimore, I spent a week at some meetings in Palm Springs, then a week in New Orleans at some meetings (my wife rode over with me
on that one ... she won't let me go to New Orleans by myself!). This week I was in Atlanta for a day, then went from there to Nashville, then home
Thursday night.
Nashville was interesting ... I met a guy from Christian Pipe Smokers forum at a tobacco shop there, for some interesting conversation while we sampled 3 or 4 different tobaccos, exchanged a couple of tins, and looked at some nice Dunhill estate pipes. Later at the airport I was looking for a guy from Pointing Dog Journal, who had told me he would be flying out of Nashville Thursday also, but he had a later flight and I missed him. I think that's it for me for a while ... trying to wrap up some projects and write reports now. Oh, and tomorrow morning I report for jury duty ... need I say more? |

Snipeaholic wrote: SA, we are in southern Utah, Notom, is the 'town'. I have to be back east in Virginia for a wedding the end of July and am staying until mid August, otherwise I'd be very happy to get together that week! I don't know SLC at all, I've never been there, but have passed through once on 15 coming from Wy on 80. I was just now arguing with the dear wife about the wedding being in jackson and not jamestown, but I think it is a lost cause....there is a good used book shop in jackson, it has a tremendous selection for its size, and there is one gun shop, mediocre at best, but it beats southern utah where they simply have none to speak of. I lived in west yellowstone years ago, and I hope to return once again, friends in dubios are getting older so it should be soon. BRING THE FLYROD! |

The weather has finally gotten pretty nice! My wife and I have been chasing turkeys, which seem to be smarter than we are! She's sure it's my calling,
which may be right, don't let her know I said that. Shooting some sporting clays and trying out some new guns, they all seem to shoot the same, or maybe
it's me I'm not sure? We're about ready to pull the bass boat out and see if the smallmouth made it through the winter? Other than that, waiting
for Snipe season.
