It's gotta be the hat! |

Jeffry picked me up at about 6:15 this morning and we were off to the beach. We would get there right as the tide was peaking and we would fish the falling
tide for a couple of hours. The last few times I have fished that piece of shore it has been slow for me and today was the same way. We would have probably
done better fishing an incoming tide but you have to fish when you can. Thankfully I was wearing my Northwest Seafood hat as has been my standard practice this
year. That might have been the only thing that kept the morning from being a complete shutout.

Skip,
That is a nice fish for slot fishing! Did it come home with you?

That's a beautiful red, and shoreline also. I wore my NWS hat today also, but not in as glorious a manner ... but it sure was comfortable in the heat
while working in the yard.
BTW, Skip, I recieved my Snipe hats today ... thanks again. |

Tim, glad the hats made it. So far the postal service is batting one thousand on delivery.
That fish did not get released. Very few come home but that one will be eaten today for lunch. I offered it to my host but he declined. If he sees me eating leftovers tomorrow at work he's gonna be regretting that decision. Hopefully the hat will pay off again. I have a big weekend of bream fishing next week and I will be taking it down south with me next month. |

Great fish. Is that a red drum or ar redfish? Or is there no such thing as a redfish. i know there is a red drum because Vanc said so.
Very fine hat indeed. However given that it says NORTHWEST SEAFOOD shouldn't you be a little worried about wearing it down South? I had this impression that the North agreed to stop invading the South some 150 odd years ago. I obviously have everything mixed up as usual. All the best Chagaman |

Chagaman, it is a red drum. Redfish is the most commonly name used for it. Channel bass is also a term for the same fish but I haven't heard it used in
years. "North" is a good thing on a state level, especially if your spanish ain't too good. I have a hard enough time with english. On a national
level it might not be such a good thing. Carpetbaggers continue to flood the old south and will until our national economy and ultimately our country collapse.
After the revolution the south will rise again.

Chagaman, Northwest Seafood which was not named by me derives it's name from being located in the northwest side of Gainesville. I wish there was a better
story for that but that is it.
Not to throw my fellow snipe hunters who live in south Florida under the bus but I think location of the now defunct project of the cross Florida barge canal would be a good place to cut Florida and let the southern part fend for itself. Wtih that being said I could off some reloacation assistance to the south Florida dwellers. Scott------From north central Florida Is it snipe season yet?!? |
