I don't know if any of you read the Upland Almanac, but the recent issue had a good story on the Browning Double Automatic. Here are a few pictures of

The Double Auto was made for about 20 years from the early 50's to the early 70's, it is a Belgian made two shot automatic. There were three models: the double auto, the twelvette and the twentyweight. The DA has a steel receiver, the twelvettte and twentyweight (lightest model) have alloy receivers. There were different color options on the alloy receivers. Mine is a 1963 twentyweight. The hand engraving is gold filled, left side loading port, these things shoot and load fast and have great balance not found in automatics. These odd guns leave the people that don't have one scratching their heads and the people that do own one wanting more. Mine is my favorite gun to shoot, although the spanish sxs is gaining ground. Do any of the snipers own or have shot the double auto?

I have not shot a A5 but I know they have a huge following for a reason. I wish Browning made the Double Auto in 20 gauge. It would feel like a
28 gauge and I guess they could call it a 28wieght.
